Understanding Care Options
Our experienced team will guide you through a comprehensive assessment and answer any questions you may have about the type and cost of services that best meet your needs. We'll also provide insights into the most common care settings and types, helping you clearly understand your options.

Independent Living
Communities are designed for mostly independent adults 55 and older who are seeking flexibility. These communities typically offer apartment-style living, providing 2-3 meals daily, minimal support, transportation, on-site amenities, social activities, and laundry services. Pets are welcome, too (there may be size limits). Most offer on-site services like barber and beauty salon services at a nominal cost, as well as physical therapy, podiatry, and nutrition counseling. Communities can offer options of one-, two-, and sometimes three-bedroom options and offer a full kitchen and one or more bathrooms.
Homecare
Services in your home may include companions who offer company and socialization and home health aides who provide care, including meal preparation, feeding, dressing, bathing, light housekeeping, laundry, and more. If needed, you may also receive nursing, physical, and occupational therapy visits. Home modification may be necessary to ensure safety and often includes installing grab bars, ramps, and stair glides

Assisted Living
The state licenses and regulates assisted living communities and must adhere to specific regulatory requirements. Assisted Living communities offer a higher level of support than an Independent Living community, with services offered more frequently and include more services and different levels of care depending on your specific needs. Support includes daily meal preparation and assistance with eating, dressing, bathing, and more. Often a clinical evaluation is needed to determine the right level of care.
Nursing Home
A complete skilled care facility offering private or semi-private rooms with 24-hour medical care.

Memory Care
Provides intensive, specialized support for individuals with memory issues, including Alzheimer's disease or dementia. The structured environment, specialized 24-hour care, and support provided can significantly reduce stress. Caregivers in these units often have specialized training to better understand and communicate with those living with these progressive diseases. Memory care facilities may have alarmed doors, elevators that require a code, and enclosed outdoor spaces to keep residents safe. Some offer tracking bracelets offering the opportunity to explore while allowing staff to monitor their location.
